Philip W. T. Pong received a B.Eng. from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2002 with 1st class honor's. Then he studied for a PhD in engineering at the University of Cambridge (2002-2005). He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Magnetic Materials Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for three years. His research interest currently focuses on the development and application of advanced sensing techniques based on electromagnetic sensors in smart grid and nanotechnology. Philip Pong is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), a Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI), a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM), a Fellow of the NANOSMAT Society (FNS), a chartered physicist (CPhys), a chartered electrical engineer (CEng), a chartered energy engineer, a registered professional engineer (R.P.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Energy), a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE) and a corporate member of HKIE (MHKIE in Electrical Division and Electronics Division). He serves on the editorial boards for several IEEE and SCI journals.

PhD in Thermo-Mechanical Systems Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II on 1997. Full Professor of Applied Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II. Coordinator of the research group on refrigeration and heat transfer at UNINA. The group has many International Collaborations (Xi'an Jiaotong University China, Universitat de Barcelona Spain, Saarland University Germany, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya Barcelona, School of Mechanical Engineering Vellore India). Editor in Chief of the Journal of Sustainability for Energy (ed Acadlore); Associate Editor of International Journal of Heat and Technology (ed. IIETA); in the Editorial Board of many international journals. Reviewer for more than 100 international journals. She belongs to many international scientific committees of international conferences. Membership of scientific societies: International Institute of Refrigeration (IIF-IIR), International Elastocaloric Society (IES), AIGE (Italian Association for energy management). Classified in the World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking for the year 2020 and 2022 for both the career and single year. The research activity has been developed in the field of the Termodynamics Applied and the Heat Transfer. She is co-author of more than 140 publications among paper on international and national journals and conference proceedings. She has (basing on Scopus Data-Base on 30/1/2024) and h index of 36 with 2509 citations. The scientific activity is related to following arguments: Energetic and exergetic analysis of vapour compression plants; Refrigerant fluids; Convective condensation; Convective boiling; Solid state refrigeration. Adriana Greco has more than 20 years experience in caloric cooling evidenced by the production of 50 papers in top-level journals on the topic. In 2019 she was the PI (and responsible of the Unit of University of Naples) of the project SUSSTAINEBLE (a Solution Using Solid-STate-cooling: An INvestment Eco-compatiBLE,) financed by Italian Ministry of University for the development of the first Italian heat pump based on the elastocaloric effect.

Prof. Zhengtao Ding received B.Eng. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and M.Sc. degree in systems and control, and the Ph.D. degree in control systems from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, Manchester, U.K. After working in Singapore for ten years, he joined the University of Manchester in 2003, where he is currently the Professor of Control Systems and the Head of Control, Robotics and Communication Division. He has authored/co-authored three books, including the book Nonlinear and Adaptive Control Systems (IET, 2013) and has published over 300 research articles. His research interests include nonlinear and adaptive control theory and their applications, more recently network-based control, distributed optimization and distributed learning, with applications to power systems and robotics. Prof. Ding serves or has served as the Editor in Chief of Drones and Autonomous Vehicles, Subject Chef Editor of Nonlinear Control for Frontiers, and Associate Editor for Scientific Reports, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Circuit and Systems II, IEEE Control Systems Letters, Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, Control Theory and Technology, Unmanned Systems and several other journals. He is a member of IEEE Technical Committee on Nonlinear Systems and Control, IEEE Technical Committee on Intelligent Control, and IFAC Technical Committee on Adaptive and Learning Systems. He is a fellow of The Alan Turing Institute, the UK national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.

Aleksandra Anic Vucinic graduated at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb in 1995, majoring in biochemical engineering, and was awarded the Rector's Award for the best student work in 1995. She obtained the title of Doctor of Science on in 2008 by defending his doctoral dissertation on "Optimization of the technological process of wastewater treatment in constructed wetlands." Since 2011 she has been employed at the Faculty of Geotechnics, University of Zagreb, where she currently holds the position of Head of the Laboratory of Environmental Engineering and holds several courses in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies in Environmental Engineering. She is an Editor-in-chief of scientific Journal of Environmental Engineering. She devoted her primary scientific research focus on waste management and the circular economy. She is the author and co-author of more than 100 scientific and professional papers. She has led and / or participated in a number of professional and scientific projects in the field of environmental protection and waste management. She participates in the establishment and implementation of special waste management systems at the state level. She is the president of the Croatian Association for Waste Management (HUGO), which is a member of the International f Waste Management Association.
