Professor Nasrin Sultana Juyena received her degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Faculty of Veterinary Science (FVS), Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). She joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Obstetrics, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh in 2000 and then promoted to Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in 2004, 2011, and 2015, respectively. She worked as the Head (2013-2015) of the Department of Surgery and Obstetrics, Faculty of Veterinary Science, BAU. Professor Juyena achieved PhD (2011) in semen cryopreservation from the Department of Veterinary Clinical Science, University of Padova, Italy. Her professional and research interests include sexing of sperm and embryo, embryo production and transfer, ultrasonography, Dairy herd reproductive health management and reproductive surgery. She achieved an “early career fellowship†from OWSD in 2019. She has completed eleven research projects funded by different national and international (World Bank, OWSD) organizations. At present, she is conducting research on “Speeding up genetic gain through embryo production and transfer for sustainable improvement of milk production in dairy cattle of Bangladesh†funded by the Livestock and Dairy Development Project, Department of Livestock Services, Bangladesh. She published 76 scientific papers in national and international journals and 29 proceeding papers presented at various national and international conferences held in Tunisia, Finland, the USA, Italy, Bangladesh (invited speaker) and South Africa (Keynote speaker). She has supervised 53 MS students and three PhD students. Moreover, Professor Juyena is the editor of the Bangladesh Veterinary Journal, published by the Bangladesh Veterinary Association.
