Prof. Vladimir P. Torchilin is a University Distinguished Professor and Director, Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine, Northeastern University, Boston. He graduated from the Moscow University with MS in Chemistry, and obtained there his Ph.D. and D.Sc. in Polymer Chemistry and Chemistry of Physiologically Active Compounds in 1971 and 1980, respectively. In 1991, Dr. Torchilin joined MGH/Harvard Medical School as the Head of Chemistry Program, Center for Imaging and Pharmaceutical Research, and Associate Professor of Radiology. Since 1998 Dr. Torchilin is with Northeastern University. He was the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1998-2008. His research interests include drug delivery and targeting, pharmaceutical nanocarriers. He has published more than 350 original papers, more than 150 reviews and book chapters, wrote and edited 10 books, including Immobilized Enzymes in Medicine, Targeted Delivery of Imaging Agents, Liposomes, Nanoparticulates as Pharmaceutical Carriers, and holds more than 40 patents. He is Editor-in-Chief of Current Drug Discovery Technologies and of Drug Delivery and on the Editorial Boards of many journals, including Journal of Controlled Release (Review Editor), Bioconjugate Chemistry and Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews. Among many awards, Professor Torchilin was the recipient of the 1982 Lenin Prize in Science (the highest award in the USSR). He is a Member of European Academy of Sciences. He is also a Fellow of AIMBE, AAPS, and CRS, and received the 2005 Research Achievements in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery Award from the AAPS, 2007 Research Achievements Award from the Pharmaceutical Sciences World Congress, 2009 AAPS Journal Award, 2009 International Journal of Nanomedicine Distinguished Scientist Award, 2010 CRS Founders Award, and 2012 Alec Bangham Award. In 2005-2006 he was a President of the Controlled Release Society. In 2011, Times Higher Education ranked him number 2 among top world scientists in pharmacology for the period of 2001-2010.

Dr. Ballatore is a Professor at University of California San Diego (UCSD) Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and a medicinal chemist with ~20 years of experience in drug discovery in both the biotechnology (~3 years) and academic drug discovery settings. Over the past several years the primary focus of my research has been in the area of Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative tauopathies with specific collaborative programs directed towards the discovery and development of (a) tau aggregation inhibitors [e.g., Bioorg. Med. Chem., 2012, 20, 4451–61]; (b) microtubule-stabilizing agents [e.g., see J. Med. Chem., 2014, 57(14): 6116-27]; (c) thromboxane A2 receptor antagonists [e.g., see ACS Chem. Neurosci., 2012, 3(11): 928-40]; and (d) multi-targeted inhibitors of eicosanoid biosynthesis [e.g., see J. Med. Chem., 2017, 60(12), 5120-45]. In addition, the Ballatore laboratory is also actively involved in the investigation of basic, fundamental principles in medicinal chemistry, such as in the area of isosteric replacements [e.g., see J. Med. Chem., 2016, 59(7), 3183-203].

Prof. Maggiora received bachelor and doctoral degrees in chemistry and biophysics from the University of California-Davisand carried out postdoctoral research in theoretical chemistry at the University of Kansas. In 1970 he joined the faculty at the University of Kansas and rose through the ranks becoming a Full Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Chemistry. Maggiora’s interests included quantum chemistry, molecular modeling, and drug design. From 1985 to 2003 he was the Director of Computer-Aided Drug Discovery and a Research Fellow at several pharmaceutical companies. During that time he carried out research in computational drug design and chemical informatics with emphasis on applications of molecular similarity analysis. In 2003 he accepted a position in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona. Although he formally retired in 2007, he remains active consulting and carrying out research in several areas of chemical informatics, which include molecular similarity analysis, development and application of chemical space concepts, analysis of activity landscape features with a focus on activity and similarity cliffs, applications of rough set and fuzzy set theory, of networks and hypernetworks, and of information theory in drug research. In 2008 he received the Hermann Skolnik Award from the Division of Chemical Information of The American Chemical Society, and in 2020 he received the Fujita Award from the International QSAR, Chemoinformatics, and Modeling Society.

Janice Aldrich-Wright obtained her BAppSc (Hons) from University of Technology, Sydney and PhD from Macquarie University, Sydney. Subsequently she was awarded the Cornforth Medal, for the best PhD in Chemistry in Australia (1993). From 1993- till present she has been an associate lecturer, Lecture, Senior Lecture, Associate Professors and now a Professor in Chemistry at the University of Western Sydney. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. She began with teaching in chemistry but quickly established a strong foundation in research and in this capacity, student mentorship. Her work is internationally recognised in the field of anticancer chemistry and pharmacology and she has published widely. Innovative bioinorganic molecular design, elegant synthesis, comprehensive characterisation (including X-ray analysis at the synchrotron) and the biophysical analysis of the interactions of these compounds with DNA using, for example synchrotron radiation circular Dichroism (SRCD – Aarhus, Denmark), exemplify her research while creating a vibrant, productive and collaborative environment for her research students.

Then he successively pursued postdoctoral research with Prof. Dr. Ilija Čorić at University of Zurich and with Prof. Dr. Lucas J. Gooßen at Ruhr-University Bochum. Since the end of 2021, he worked as a distinguished professor of Nanshan Scholars at Guangzhou Medical University, Guangzhou, China. His current research interest lies in targeted synthesis of drug molecule and functional material enabled by selective and efficient transformations of inert chemical bonds. Subha Kalyaanamoorthy’s research is focused on developing and employing computational methods to address biological, health and environmental challenges. She involves a hybrid scientific approach, where she and her research group make new novel hypothesis using in silico approaches and validate them in their wet lab. Their research mainly engages multiple disciplines including molecular modeling and molecular dynamics simulations, Quantum modeling and simulations, protein biochemistry, machine learning, phylogenetic inference and bioinformatics to understand the structure, function, dynamics and evolution of proteins of interest. Drug discovery and synthetic biology are the key application areas of her research.

Dr. Ganesan is passionate about computational molecular biosciences and drug discovery. His research team focuses on (i) understanding the nature and biophysical processes behind molecular recognition in biological systems; (ii) small molecule therapeutics design for neurodegeneration, cancers, and COVID-19, and (iii) development of new computational tools for in silico structural biology. Dr. Lin is Professor and Director of the Department of Physiology, Department of Medicine, Taipei Medical University. He is also a scholar who studies drug applications in kidney disease. He has about 20 years of experience in biotechnology and academic drug discovery (about 6 years). Prof. Dr. Xinyong Liu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shandong Medical University, in 1984 and 1991, respectively. Fangyu Peng, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Nuclear Medicine Division. He also serves as the Director of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Translational Imaging, and holds a secondary appointment in the Advanced Imaging Research Center. His clinical interests include general nuclear medicine, PET imaging, and computed tomography (CT), with a particular interest in oncology and neurology. Dr. Peng earned his medical degree at Jiangxi Medical College in Nanchang, China. He then earned a master’s degree in molecular virology at Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine's Institute of Virology in Beijing. He earned a doctoral degree in microbiology and immunology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He then completed a research fellowship program in hematopathology at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, before completing his residency in pathology at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. Dr Dagmara Baraniak is an assistant professor at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She studied chemistry at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland), where she received her M.Sc. in 2007, working on fluorinating adducts of L-proline derivatives under the guidance of prof. Henryk Koroniak. During her studies, she moved for one academic year to Germany (Organic Chemistry Institute of the University of Münster), where she studied and took an advanced course in organic chemistry and biochemistry under the supervision of prof. Pomerantz, Ph.D., is currently an associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, principal investigator at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University, and Chief Scientific Officer of Recombination Therapeutics, a precision oncology company. Dr. Pomerantz’s academic laboratory studies mechanisms of DNA repair in mammalian cells and focuses on understanding the biochemical functions and structure of the unique A-family DNA polymerase Theta (Polq) and other DNA repair factors. My research work mainly focuses on the construction and function of DNA nanomachines, which are cutting edge and challenging topics. I designed and constructed unique DNA molecular tension probes using a short circular DNA nanotechnology technique and functionalized these probes with fluorophores, gold nanoparticles, small molecular drugs, and peptide ligands. I achieved nano-specific precision in organizing plasmonic nanoparticles on the nano DNA frameworks to achieve plasmon resonance effects. My work on the DNA nanomachines provided an efficient mechanism of fluorescence resonance energy transfer that realizes the bio-imaging, and detection of biological events, and functions of the biomolecules. I have been working on multilayered hybrid magnetic nanoparticles for applications in nanomedicine from last two years.

Prof. DSc Irena Kostova graduated from Mendeleev University in Moscow with the highest grade. Appointed as a research scientist at the Research Center of the Ministry of Environment. Defended her PhD thesis and DSc at Medical University-Sofia whereshe is a full professor at Chemistry Department. Graduated her second specialization “Theoretical bases of medical chemistry” at MU-Sofia. Her research interests include the developmental work in theoretical and coordination chemistry, vibrational spectroscopy, pharmacological investigations on biologically active compounds etc.Author of 150 publications with high impact factor and h-index 35, several textbooks,education bookmaterials and monographs with around6000 citations in indexed journals. She has been a lecturer at renowned universities in India, Germany, Austria, Italy, Romania, Spain, Slovakia etc. Member of the organizing committees of over 20 international conferences. She is an Editor of 6 prestigious international scientific journals, a member of the Editorial Boards of over 25 international journals and a reviewer for numerous high-ranking journals and international projects.She has created and maintains collaborations with a number of European universities in the framework of joint research projects and European programs. Dr. Avinash Teli was born in Nepal on March 15, 1991; He accomplished his Doctoral in Pharmacy from M.M. College of Pharmacy, MMU, Ambala, India. Dr. Avinash Teli is Head Clinical Pharmacologist and Drug consultant, Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Nayati Medicity, Mathura. Previously, He worked in MMIMSR, Fortis Hospital, Medanta-The Medicity, Eternal Heart care center in Clinical Pharmacology department. He is engaged in Management of Medication Therapy, Prescription validation, Dose calculation, Antibiotic usage, DDD, DRI. Dr. Avinash Teli is Lifetime member of Foundation for Health and Environment Research. Dr.Avinash is Editorial board member in two indexed journal with high impact factor. He is expert in evaluation of the manuscript, quality of the manuscript, He has achieved many certifications from authorities like GCP-NIDA, Pharmacovigilance from UMC, Diabetes prevention from EACCME IDF School of diabetes, Brussels, Belgium. He is trainer for drug information, clinical practice & Safe medication for healthcare team. Dr Avinash has attended several conferences and workshops at national and international levels. He also has presented many posters on international level.

Prof. D. K. Dhawan is presently working as a Professor Emeritus in the department of Biophysics and has previously worked as Professor of Biophysics for 15 years. He also founded the Centre for Nuclear Medicine at Panjab University, Chandigarh in the year 2006 and headed the same for 9 years and was also Coordinator, Centre for Medical Physics in the year 2013. Professor Dhawan did his Ph.D. from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, India in the year 1984. Prior to his Ph.D., he worked in Radiation Medicine Centre of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India, and was awarded Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Radioisotopes Techniques in the year 1978. His research areas are radiation medicine, toxicology and cancer. He has published 225 research articles and 179 are listed in Scopus during 38 years of his research career. Prof. Dhawan has supervised 46 Ph.D. and 47 Master’s theses of students and currently is supervising work of 6 Ph.D. students. He has completed 18 research projects funded by various scientific organizations. Recently, his research entitled” A radioactive trimer complex for the detection of tumors” was granted Patent by Government of India. Prof. Dhawan is a Fellow of Union for International Cancer Control, Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists and honorary fellow of Indian College of Nuclear Medicine. For his contribution in science, he was given Oration award by Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists at its 38th Annual conference held at Chennai, India and was also given best researcher award by Panjab University in the year 2019 and received best papers award twice during Medical Olympicus conference, Greece. Prof. Dhawan has been awarded University Grants Commission-Basic Science Research (UGC-BSR) Faculty Fellowship by the University Grants Commission of India in the year 2020.
