Dr Martin Kussmann was trained as a biochemist and has accomplished a 30-years dual corporate/academic career with experience in nutrition, pharma, and biotechnology. He held professorships at EPF Lausanne, Switzerland; Aarhus University, Denmark;and Auckland University, New Zealand, where he was also Scientific Director of the National Science Programme on Food Innovation. Dr Kussmann spent 13 years at Nestlé Research as Department Head and Primary Investigator.He has co-created and managed four research units and scientifically led two institutions. His research focuses on translational human studies in nutrition and health, multi-omics biomarker development, and artificial intelligence-enabled discovery and validation of natural bio actives. Dr Kussmann is an internationally requested multi-lingual author, editor, and lecturer credited with ~150 publications, >30 media/press communications, and numerous presentations.
Dr. Pickering is a full Professor with the Departments of Biological Sciences and Psychology at Brock University in the Niagara Region, Canada. He is affiliated with Brock’s Environmental Sustainability Research Centre, where he has previously served as Associate Director, and has active adjunct appointments at the Gulbali Institute, Charles Sturt University, and the Sustainability Research Centre at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Gary’s research program focuses on understanding the drivers of human food choice, and climate change psychology. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, proceedings, books and patents, and in 2023 was recognized in Stanford University’s global list of the top 2% most influential scientists.
Dr. Mario Allegra studied Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies at the University of Palermo, Italy and graduated as PharmD in 1997. He then joined the research group of Prof. Perretti at the Department of Biochemical Pharmacology, Queen Mary’s University of London. Since 2000 he has been working at the University of Palermo where he received his PhD in Molecular Medicine and now holds a position of Associate Professor of Biochemistry. His research interests cover the role of phytochemicals in oxidative stress-dependent inflammatory conditions. He has published more than 60 research articles in SCI(E) journals, with 4325 citations.
Dr. Vasudeva Singh educated (B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D) from the University of Mysore, Mysore, Karnataka, South India. Served CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore, Karnataka, India, for about 34 years, raised to the level of Chief Scientist, retired in 2013 as HOD of Grain Science & Technology Dept. Served as an Emeritus Medical Scientist (ICMR), Food Sci. & Nutrition Dept, University of Mysore, Mysore, where handled a project of ICMR, and taught students of M.Sc Food Sci. and Nutrition, along with research guidance from 2014 to 2017. Published around 80 research papers in Peer reviewed National and International journals, Inventor of several food technology processes, which are readily available for commercial exploitation, at CSIR CFTRI, Mysore; Inventor of a National and an International patent. The Indian Patent was made into a Process and Commercialized to around 30 Food Industries as on March 2019. Handled several National & International projects. Worked as a Faculty member and Course Co-ordinator of M.Sc Food Technology, HRD short term courses of CFTRI. Guided around 100 students of M.Sc, Food Tech., Food Science, Biochemistry, Food Science and Nutrition ; B.Tech, students in Biotechnology, Food Technology, for their Dissertation & Investigation topics. Produced 5 + 2 Ph.D’s, guided 4 candidates from Korea, Sudan, Nigeria and Etheopia for their Post Doctoral Research. Question paper setter of M.Sc Food Technology for several years. Demonstrated improved method of Sago production at 3 tonnes level in one of the Industries in Salem. Evaluated 10 Rice Milling Industries in Orissa. Demonstrated preservation of high moisture paddy at 1.5 tonnes level in one of the villages of Shimoga dist in Karnataka. Recipient of several awards; Fellow of Royal Society of Chemists, Cambridge, U K; Fellow and Life Time Achievement Awardee of Association of Carbohydrate Chemists and Technologist, Dehra Dun, Uttaranchal; Convener of 3 National Conferences, delivered around 80-90 Invited lectures at National and International Conferences, innumerable Oral lectures, and presented around 70 posters with 8 best poster awards. Worked as a Chairman of Scientific Panel on Cereals, Pulses and Products including bakery; also as a member of Scientific Committee of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi. Served as a member of Scientific Panel on Contaminants for about 3 years for FSSAI, New Delhi. Serving this organization from the past 9 years. Worked as a Professor at the Dept. of Bio-Engg and Technology under Food Science sponsored Project, of DBT, Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology, Gauhati, where teaching and guiding the M.Sc integrated Ph.D candidates were carried out and from this position retired in April 2021. Also worked as a Research Advisory Committee Member of Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, (CIPHET), an ICAR laboratory, at Ludhiana, Punjab, from April, 2018 to Feb. 2020. At the age of 70 +, even today dedicated for teaching PG level in M.Sc in Food Science and Technology and guiding candidates for their Ph.D in Food Science, From May 2021, 7 international lectures as keynote speaker, plenary speaker, invited speaker, organizing committee member, which are going on by VIRTUAL conferences. Again on 1.09.22, 12-13.09.22, delivered talks at various capacities in London, Paris, Rome, Belgium focusing on Grain Processing in general and Rice Technology in, specific.
Pratibha Nerurkar , PhD Department of Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering,College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources – University of Hawaii at Manoa. Research Interests Traditional Hawaiian and Ayurvedic medicine, alternative medicines in obesity, insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia, insulin signaling, lipid and glucose metabolism, mitochondrial toxicity associated with obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes and drug-induced hepatotoxicity, ER function in obesity, insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia, role of reactive oxygen species and nuclear transcription factors in obesity, insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia.
Dr. Gaytán-MartÃnez earned a master's degree in food science and technology at the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila. Later, she completed a Ph.D. in advanced technology at the Instituto Politecnico Nacional. She is currently a Research Professor in the Graduate Program in Food at the Center of the Republic (PROPAC), Research and Graduate Studies in Food Science, School of Chemistry, Universidad Autonoma de Querétaro. Dr. Gaytán-MartÃnez is recognized as a National System of Researchers (Level 1) and PRODEP profile. She teaches and researches in the food science and technology area and has experience in the development of food products using emerging technologies, innovation in product concept development, formulations and prototype from cereals. She has published more than 50 articles in high-impact journals, book chapters, human resources training (bachelor, master and doctorate) and intellectual property registration. She has also participated as a reviewer for journals in the food industry and in development of products/processes susceptible to technology transfer.

Chee Kong Yap is working as a full professor in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) since 2021. Prof Yap is an academician for more than 18 years in UPM and 23 years as a researcher.Prof Yap has supervised more than 80 undergraduates and 30 postgraduate students in the fields of ecotoxicology, environmental biology, environmental sciences, water quality and ecotoxicological genetics. Prof Yap has published more than 325 papers in refereed academic journals, 5 books (three of them published in NOVA Science Publishers, USA) and 32 book chapters. Until February 2022, 207 of them have now been indexed in Elsevier’sScopus with an H-index of 30(>2761 citations).Prof Yap has also been invited in honorary as Editorial Board members for more than 30 international academic journals. Prof Yap has been an invited visiting researcher at National lnstitute of Environmental Studies, Tsukuba (Japan). Internationally, Prof Yap has been an invited visiting professor at Nihon University (Japan) and Hokkaido University (Japan), and an invited visiting researcher at Kobe University (Japan) and Kobe College (Japan).
Dr. BENAISSA KHEIRA is a University Lecturer and the University of Tamanrasset (Algeria) and the CEO at GREENAL Start-up Company, which produces a high efficiency biodigesters system made to help farmers with hard access to energy, to supply to electricity by converting organic wastes to gas fuel for water pumping and manner into biofertilizer for farming. Kheira BENAISSA, author of the book entitled "Production of methane and biofertilizer : Green Energy from Waste". She holds a PhD in waste management and pollution of ecosystems. Her passion about environmental protection and renewable energies allows her to find practical solutions to the lack access to energy in Algerian and African isolated regions. Therefore, she designed the first 15m3 biodigester in the city of Tamanrasset in southern Algeria (2014). Prior to creating GREENAL, BENAISSA KHEIRA worked and she is still working as a certified environmental engineer at her own environmental consulting firm named "SYNERGY" created in 2018.
Dr. Gamal Ali El-Sharnouby, has completed his Ph.D. from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He is the Prof. of food science and nutrition. Former Head of Food Science & Technology Dept., Al-Azhar Univ. Work as a Professor and coordinator of Food Science & Nutrition Dept., King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia (2006-2015). Chairman of Scientific Committee for the Promotion of Professors and Associate Professors (Food and Food Industries). He is member in many professional societies. He has attended more than 30 national and international conferences and scientific symposia. Supervised many of the master’s and Ph.D.in Food Science& Nutrition. He has published more than 40 papers in reputed journals and serving as an editorial board member of repute. He participated in the development of many of the Food Standards. Chairman of Scientific Committee for the standard specifications (Food Additives), the Egyptian Organization for Standardization. Also, member of committees’ standard specifications (Food Contaminants, and Cereals & Legumes). Work as a scientific consultant for many food factories. He has experience in Food Science and Technology, focusing on the following subjects: Functional Foods, Phytochemicals, Food Safety, Food development, Palm Date fruits Processing, determine the expire date of food for human consumption. He is Principal investigator in many foods’ science and technology projects.
Prof Songca has been Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Teaching and Learning at Walter Sisulu University, University of Zululand, and now the University of KwaZulu-Natal since 2014. He was the executive dean of the faculty of Science, Engineering, and Technology before being appointed the overall coordinator for the turn-around framework, at Walter Sisulu University. Now, he is serving the HEQC of the CHE as a member of the NSRC and as chairperson of Institutional Audit for a local University. He is the chairman of the Board of the University of KwaZulu-Natal Extended Learning and has been a member of the Board of the Eastern Cape Parks and the Eastern Cape Information Technology Initiative. He has served also as the coordinator of the National Research Network on e-Skills, an initiative of the erstwhile e-Skills Institute, now the Ikamva National e-Skills Institute. He qualified with a Ph.D. from the Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, in organic chemistry drug development. Over the past 35 years, he has attracted research grants, in excess of R100 million from NRF, SAAVI, DTPS, Anglo American, DeBeers, Sentrachem, Nedbank, and Mer-SETA. He has read more than 90 conference papers and published more than 110 articles in local and international journals, books, and proceedings. He has supervised 35 students; Honors, Masters, and Doctorates and is currently supervising 2 PhDs. He has experience lecturing chemistry at 8 universities between 1983 and 2014.

Dr. Ma Wei Juan, female, born in 1981/11/19. MD,PhD.in Epidemiology and Statistics. Research field is: Risk factors, environment and disease. Reports about nutrients, elements, exposure and growth published from 2005, research on KBD from 2007 till now. Internationally, reports about KBD were published as cover in journal of Proteomics, and in journal of Ultrastructural Pathology previously. Recently, the new growth surveillance indices were published in journal of medicine and life. The research work was rewarded as 1st award of Science and Technology by provincial government in 2013.
Dr. Meneses-Alvarez earned a master's degree in nutrition and metabolism at the University of Cordoba in Spain. Later, she completed a Ph.D. in Biomedicine in the same University of Cordoba. She is currently a Researcher in the Centre of Biotechnology of Medicinal, Functional, and Edible Mushrooms, Colegio de Postgraduados (CP), Campus Puebla, México. Currently she is recognized in the National System of Researchers (Level 1). She researches in the nutrition and food science area and has experience in the functional foods and nutrigenomics studies. She has published in high-impact journals, book chapters, human resources training (bachelor, master and doctorate). She has also participated as a reviewer for journals in nutrition.
Dr. Carolina Hernández Hernández, is a researcher attached to the C.E. Huimanguillo of the National Institute of Agricultural and Livestock Forestry Research since 2008. Graduated from the Agroindustrial Engineering career in 2004 from the Chapingo Autonomous University, she obtained her master's degree in science in the specialty of Fruit Growing from the Postgraduate College (2008) and a doctorate in science in the agricultural, food, forestry and development engineering program sustainable rural by the University of Seville (Spain) in the year 2019. In addition, she has experience in the area of postharvest handling of tropical fruits, especially pitahaya and custard apple. She has participated as a manager and collaborator in various projects related to the improvement and optimization of the fermentation stages and cocoa drying, as well as the final quality of the bean, sponsored by INIFAP, SADER, Nestlé and CONACyT. Various publications have been derived from these projects, such as brochures for producers, catalogues, memories of scientific events, scientific articles. She has also participated in technology transfer and science dissemination activities and projects, giving workshops and talks and providing technical advice to producers, technicians and students on topics of her specialty. She is a member of the National System of Researchers since 2020 and of the State System of Researchers (Tabasco). She has participated in the coordination of scientific events in the State of Tabasco from 2019 to date and since 2021 she is State Director of the National Institute of Agricultural and Livestock Forestry Research in Tabasco.

Kiran Gange is the CEO and founder at RapidPricer, an Artificial Intelligence based company in Amsterdam that specializes in reducing food waste through real time pricing for retailers. Previously, he had founded CustoLogix in the year 2008 to help retailers leverage analytics and mathematical capabilities for pricing and promotions. Recently, Kiran has also founded Global Launch Base, an internationalization consulting firm in 2021 which helps European companies with international go-to-market strategies and market launches. He has over 16 years of experience launching innovative technologies around the world. He has consulted on behalf of large consulting companies such as PwC, IBM and Kurt Salmon at some of the largest retailers in the world. His entrepreneurial experiences include successful ventures in the Silicon Valley, Mexico City, Bangalore, Amsterdam and New Delhi. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the Bangalore Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Pepperdine University on a full merit scholarship. Kiran is a powerful speaker and writer with the ability to motivate and lead teams to pursue vision towards impactful goals. Dr. Ghanya Al-Naqeb, is an Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture Food and Environment, Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition, University of Sana`a, a Yemen, holds a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences, Nutrigenomics from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. Currently she is working as a research fellowship holder at the University of Trento, Italy. Her research is providing new knowledge on the health benefits of herbal plants, nutrients, functional foods and nutraceuticals as new effective natural products for disease prevention in the areas of cardiovascular system, obesity, peptic ulcer and type 2 diabetes, with clear mechanisms of action through gene and protein expression levels. Her research also focuses on food safety, genotoxicity and toxicology related foods and food additives. She is involved in nutrition awareness and food insecurity enhancement in Yemen. She has gained her scientific experiences from different advanced laboratories in Malaysia, USA, Germany and Italy. She has published two international patents and 32 international publications with h index=14 and citation of 931 (google scholar). She has been selected for the international award: The 2016 Elsevier Foundation Awarded for Early Career Women Scientists in the Developing World, in Biological Sciences: Agriculture, Biology, Medicine.
Dr. Alfred Anderson is currently an Associate Professor of Food Science and Technology at Kuwait University, Kuwait, having joined the Department of Food Science and Nutrition in September 2003. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor at the Food and Nutrition Department of University of Wisconsin-Stout from 2001 to 2003, and before that a Research Food Technologist at the Southern Regional Research Center (SRRC) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), New Orleans from 1999 to 2001. Dr. Alfred Anderson research interests have focused on cereal science and technology, functional properties of cereal grain components in relation to end use quality, production of value-added products of enhanced quality from cereal grains, cereal utilization in developing countries, functional foods and ingredients, utilization of bioactive ingredients in natural food substances to enhance health and lifestyle, among others. In addition to his research activities, he have taught or continue to teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as Introduction to Human Nutrition and Food Science, Organic Chemistry, Food Microbiology, Humans and Their Environment, Food Chemistry, Food Safety and Food Handling, General Chemistry, Food Analysis, Food Service Management, Chemistry for Life Sciences, Food Product Development, Cereal Technology, Food Regulations, Food Processing Technology, Quality Control in Food Industry, General Physics, Analytical Techniques in Food Science and Nutrition.
Dr. Prerana Shere is a Ph. D. (Food Tech.), professor and head, in the department of Food Process and Product Technology, MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune. She is a passionate Food Technologist with 15+ years of experience in food and nutrition research. Her areas of research interest are phytochemicals, extrusion, millet and fruit based innovative food products and processing technology development. She has proven her expertise in technology transfer of innovative food product and process technologies. She has published more than 30 national and international research papers in reputed journals.
Mrs. Uzma Sadiq has expertise in food science & technology, especially in ultrasonication encapsulation. Her work using milk proteins as a drug delivery system for plant-extracted bioactive through ultrasonication adds knowledge in developing functional foods and nutraceuticals. The concept is based on the casein micelles as an excellent delivery system that utilizes the previous literature, with a modified methodology to use Aloe vera plant-extracted anthraquinones for encapsulation.
Dr. Farshideh Einsele studied Electrical Engineering, Industrial Management & Computer Science in the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) and University of Fribourg in Switzerland. She completed her PhD in Computer Science department specialized in Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition in 2008. She then completed a PostDoc year in University of Florida (UCF) researching text-recognition from real-life images. Since 2012 she is associate Professor in Bern University of Applied sciences (BUAS). She teaches Business Information technology and Computer Science courses. Her research interests are data and text mining. Since 2015 she has been involved in cooperation with department of health in BUAS in data mining to find correlation between food intake and chronical diseases and has published several articles in this regard. Currently, she is working on finding links between food intake and chronical diseases using supermarket food basket and 20 years of nationwide Swiss Health database. Besides, she works in other data mining projects which involve social media and Covid-19 data.
Dr. Xiao Sun received his Ph.D. degree in Agriculture Electrification and Automation from Nanjing Agricultural University. He joined the Department of Biological Science and Food Engineering faculty at Chuzhou University in 2017 and visited the University of Arkansas (Poultry Science Department) as visiting scholar from 2019 to 2020. His research strongly emphasizes evaluating production and processing factors affecting poultry meat quality, including tenderness, water holding capacity, color, and sensory attributes. His recent research has focused on the quality effects of muscle myopathies such as woody breast and the detection methods for meat defects during processing. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles, four patents, and over 20 research abstracts. In addition to his research, Dr. Sun won the young scientific program award (Turkey) in 2019, he also serves as an undergraduate academic advisor and led students’ competition teams placed multiple awards in the past four years.

Dr. Irene Dini is an Associate Professor in Food Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy -University "Federico II" - Napoli, a Specialist in 'Food Science,' and PhD in 'Natural Compounds Pharmacologically Active.' She teaches "Food Chemistry," "Spectroscopic Methods in Food Analysis," and "Science of Dietary Supplements of Plant Origin" at Federico II University. The scientific activity of Prof. Irene Dini is aimed at the study of natural substances and has mainly developed on seven themes: a) Isolation (by chromatography methods such as DCCC, HPLC, TLC, and column chromatography), characterization (by UV, IR, RI, and NMR spectroscopies), and dosage of primary and secondary metabolites in food plants b) Development and validation of analytical methods for the dosage of metabolites and phytochemicals c) In vitro determination of the bioaccessibility, bioavailability, and antioxidant activity of metabolites present in food matrices d) Evaluation and design of nutraceuticals and nutricosmetic e) Study of environmentally friendly agronomic techniques capable of improving the nutraceutical interest of food products f) Development and validation of analytical methods for the dosage of toxins in foods. g) Recovery of secondary metabolites biologically active from agro-industrial waste. Dr. Dibyajyoti Banerjee has passed MBBS from North Bengal Medical College, West Bengal , India in 1999 and MD in Biochemistry from Kasturba Medical College , Manipal, India in 2003. Then he is continuously working in toxicology, food sciences , biomarker development and point of care testing tool development. Currently he is working as a Professor in Department of Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh 160012. He has developed a method for estimating hydrogen peroxide in human urine and established urinary hydrogen peroxide as a biomarker of oxidative stress. Recently he has established (with his PhD student Dr Sheemona ) 1 napthyl acetate as a better alternative substrate for acetylcholinesterase which is the gold standard biomarker for pesticide poisoning. Currently along with his student (Mr Deepak Yadav and Mrs Sumanpreet ) he is working in phosphine toxicity and distinction of organophosphorous pesticide toxicity from that of carbamate toxicity.
Dr. Masahiro Onuma has expertise in oxidative disease prevention to usenon-medical product based on GSK’s experience of Allopurinol which is the strongest anti-oxidant efficacy in this world. He creates new indication of Allopurinol for stomatitis induced by cancer treatment which was approved by the Japanese Cancer treatment committee to propose new mechanism of Allopurinol for anti-oxidant. Dr Amanda Yucca Chulayo (PhD) is a Scientific Manager responsible for Livestock and Aquaculture Development at Dohne Agricultural Development Institute. Dohne affiliated under the hospice of the Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (EC-DRDAR) South Africa. She plans, manages and coordinates DRDAR partners and stakeholders for red meat, animal fibres and aquaculture development. She is part of community out-reach projects that link DRDAR with research institutes, production sector (abattoirs, supermarkets and consumers) and the industry at large. Amanda is a well-groomed and grounded researcher with moral work ethics, knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, making her effective in her work both on the ground and in the office. Her interests include animal welfare, biomarkers of stress, nanostructures of meat and value-addition of healthy food and meat products that will improve livestock and farmer’s livelihoods and the fisheries industry at large. Dr Amanda Chulayo, recently attended the “2019 Seminar on Marine Fishery Economic Development†in Xiamen, China (16 October to 14 November 2019). This was funded by the Minister of Commerce of the Peoples Republic of China in collaboration with The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE) and DRDAR that was hosted by the Fujian Institute of Oceanography (FJIO) in Xiamen, China. The seminar focused on Marine Fishery and Economic Development to equip the developing countries with relevant, current and efficient production systems, and the efficacy of venturing into aquatic species towards food security, poverty alleviation and job creation. Dr Chulayo is an Editorial Board Member and a reviewer for the Food Research International (FRI), South African Journal for Animal Science (SAJAS) and Journal of Medicinal Plants and Economic Development (JOMPED). She is also a member for SASAS and a registered Professional Natural Scientist; South African Council for Animal Science Professions (SACNASP). Dr Chulayo has been nominated as a session chair at 52nd SASAE conference held in ICC, East London, Eastern Cape (5-7 June 2018) and by the South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS) to adjudicate all research articles for the 50th SASAS Congress in 2017. She has attended and presented her research internationally, at the Global Summit On Gastroenterology and Hepatology (GSGH) in Dubai (2022), ICoMST in Ghent, Belgium (2012), Izmir, Turkey (2013), Punta del Este, Uruguay (2014), in France (2015) and in Bangkok, Thailand (2016) and at local conferences in South Africa since 2009. Dr Chulayo was awarded a Bronze Medal for a meritorious PhD thesis in 2015 during the 48th SASAS congress held in Zululand-Mfolozi, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Till to date, Dr Chulayo has 14 publications in peer-reviewed and accredited journals including Meat Science and the South African Journal of Animal Science. She has successfully supervised 2 PhD`s, 4 MSc and 3 Honours students. Collaboration with established and up-coming researchers to enlarge her horizons in the field of innovative research for continued professional development has been the drive behind her achievements. A very soft-hearted, humble, jovial person yet so inquisitive, likes to stay healthy, she enjoys her short distance running. In all that she is, she gives all thanks to God her creator and her fore-bearers. In her spare time, she does a lot of reading and writing and enjoy watching cartoons and medical series, and surprisingly does some of very creative beadwork.
Dr. Aleksandar Valjarević, is an associate professor at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Geography, Serbia. Aleksandar Valjarević teaching on next courses: Social ecology, Ecological Ethics, Geospatial database, Monitoring and Auditing. He was born on February 13, 1978, in Prokuplje, Serbia. In 2012, he earned the academic title of Ph.D. of Geosciences. Aleksandar Valjarević is fluent in English (speaks, reads, and writes) as well as Russian (reads and speaks). Dr. Aleksandar Valjarević also wrote three books and one monograph. Dr. Aleksandar Valjarević has more than 60 papers in the Journals from the SCI list. Aleksandar Valjarević was a guest professor at the Ho Chi Minh City University (Vietnam) and the State University of Wyoming in the United States. The main research areas of Aleksandar are Geographical Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Numerical analysis, and geography in common. He used GIS and Remote sensing in Climatology, Meteorology, Digitization, Agricultural, Human geography and Medical geography. Aleksandar was participating in three national and two international projects.
Dr. Vishnu Bhat was a Senior Resident, JIPMER & KSCH, New Delhi (1979- 1983) Senior Research Officer, ICMR, April (1983 – Dec 1983).At present, he is a Director-Medical research –Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital, Pondicherry –January 2020 onwards. He edited a book on Protein Energy Malnutrition, NICU protocols of JIPMER, NNF protocols in Perinatology.
Dr. R. Pandiselvam is a young academician actively engaged in food engineering research. He received B.Tech Agricultural Engineering in 2010 and M. Tech. (Agricultural Processing & Food Engineering) in 2012 from the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. After completion of doctorate studies from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University at 2015, he has joined ICAR as a scientist (Agricultural Process Engineering) at Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI), Kasaragod, India in 2016. Dr. R. Pandiselvam has played an instrumental role in the first report of the reaction kinetics and diffusion of ozone gas in paddy grains, rice grains, and green gram under Indian climatic condition. This work was presented in “International Conference on Innovative Insect Management Approaches for Sustainable Agro Eco System†and was conferred with a best poster award. He has contributed in design and development of minimal processing machine for tender coconut, continuous type coconut testa removing machine, tender coconut cutting machine and preservation protocol for trimmed tender coconut and also developer/co-developer many value-added food products (viz., Kalpa Krunch, Frozen Coconut Delicacy and Matured Coconut Water based Beverages), which are commercialized to many entrepreneurs. Dr. R. Pandiselvam authored more than 100 articles published in the national and international journals of repute. He has been author or co-author of 6 books and 55 book chapters. Dr. R. Pandiselvam is the associate editor of Measurement: Food (Elsevier Journal) and Frontiers in Nutrition. He has served/serving as a Guest Editor for Ozone Science and Engineering (Taylor & Francis Journal), Journal of Food Process Engineering (Wiley-Blackwell Journal) and Journal of Texture Studies. Dr. R. Pandiselvam also features in the editorial board member of Ozone Science and Engineering, Journal of Texture Studies, Quality Assurance and Safety of Crops & Foods, Nutrition & Food Science, and Current Agriculture Research Journal. He conferred with National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) Young Scientist Award, NAAS Associate and Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE)-Distinguished Service Award-2020.
Dr. Hena Ray is the Joint Director at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Kolkata, an R&D organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. She is also the Adjunct Professor, Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, India. Dr. Hena Ray has completed her PhD from Instrumentation and Electronics Department, Jadavpur University, India. She has twenty five years of research experience in system designing, process automation, image processing, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics, sensor and sensing system. Prof. Elias Militao is a PhD student in Health Sciences at Mid Sweden University, Department of Health Sciences, Sweden. His research is about food insecurity and how food insecurity is associated with negative health outcomes in the context of Mozambique. He hold an MSc. in Biotechnology since 2013 from Eduardo Mondlane University, and He is a Lecturer in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Eduardo Mondlane University, Department of Biological Sciences, Mozambique. Research interests include: food security and nutrition, food insecurity (including associated causes) and health inequalities, and also the effects of meditation and yoga practices on one’s wellbeing and spiritual growth.
Ms. Vinuri is a Currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Food Science and Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. Since Joining the Food Science and Technology Department as a GTA, Vinuri has been involved with the coordination and management of Undergraduate course module activities and practical sessions conducted for the students of the Food Science Department of University of Peradeniya as an Alumni of the same faculty and University. During Undergraduate years, Vinuri was Involved in a diverse array of extracurricular activities such as Swimming for the University team, social service clubs such as the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya, The English Literary society of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, while also independently functioning as a freelance article writer, blog writer and creative writer through which she has honed many skills as an effective communicator and leader. Mr. Binaya Tamang is working as a lecturer in the department of Biochemistry since 2018 June at Universal college of medical sciences [ UCMS], Nepal. Worked as researcher in Iodine project which was run by department of Biochemistry of BPKIHS. Accomplished the master degree thesis related to iodine nutrients status of Nepalese population in eastern Nepal. Project mainly focused on the type of salt consumed, urinary iodine concentration and thyroid hormones of Nepalese populations. He plans to pursue PhD in nutrients research area linking with human disease like neuro disease, metabolism and endocrine disorders. More particularly in vitamin D and other micronutrients.
Mr. Asrat Mekonnen Belachew is a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (ICMC), University of Sao Paulo, Sao Carlos campus, Brazil. Before coming to ICMC, he served as a lecturer, and community service team leader at the Department of Mathematics from September 2018–March 2019 at Ambo University, Ethiopia. He is interested in mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, dynamics in complex networks, dynamic systems, and biostatistics.
Ms. Aylin Galvan has gained her research experience through the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Research Program at Lamar University and the Cyclone Scholars Summer Research Experience at Iowa State University. She has demonstrated a passion for improving the health of lower-income individuals such as current or expecting mothers, infants, and children through nutritional wellness and targeting areas of food insecurity. Her research interests include working under the role of government nutrition in dietary guidance and health and nutrition monitoring. She has gained experience in spreading nutrition education to various populations including fellow classmates, underclassmen, high schoolers, and children in order to encourage healthier dietary habits and reduce the prevalence of food insecurities through a lack of nutritional knowledge. She is currently enrolled in her fourth and final year of undergraduate in Lamar University, on track to earn her Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition with plans to pursue a Master’s of Science and Ph.D. in Nutrition.
Mr. Renato da Cunha Gomes is currently a PhD student in Food Engineering at Universiade de Lisboa, Master in Gastronomic Sciences at University of Lisbon, Specialization in Gastronomic Sciences at University of Lisbon, Specialist in Food Safety at Universidade Potiguar (UnP ) and holds a degree in Gastronomy from the Potiguar University (UnP). He is currently Professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte, Campus Apodi and works in the area of Food Science and Technology with an emphasis on the Development of Agricultural Products. He is currently linked to the Linking Landscape, Environment, Agriculture And Food laboratory at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia at the University of Lisbon, where he develops projects for the development of beer products.
Ms. Izabo R.L. Guillen Valenzuela is a geneticist biotechnologist with a master’s degree in Nutrition with plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Food Science. She has participated in different research projects in diabetes, immunology, and nutrition. Ms. Izabo Guillen had the opportunity to work with an American start-up focused on precision nutrition where she was able to analyse the current status of the knowledge on how food interacts with cells and how a right combination of nutrients can improve health and life quality. Her research interests include the evaluation of hydroalcoholic vegetable extracts with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential in cell culture and animal models.
Eng. Milad Karbalaei Aghamohsen is a PhD student at the Institute of Food Science Research (CIAL- CSIC) of the Spanish National Research Council in Madrid, Spain (2021-2025). After his Master's degree in Food Microbiology (2015-2017), he decided to strengthen his multidisciplinary background with a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering-Industrial-Food Science and Technology (2010-2014). In 2021, Milad Karbalaei will begin his PhD studies leading to a Ph.D. in Food Science at UAM. Eng. Karbalaei is the author of a total of 3 publications, including 1 book in the categories of food science and technology and analytical microbiology. He has 5 years of experience as a team member in the field of food manufacturing. Milad's research focus is on the development and validation of new green analytical methods based on advanced extraction techniques (SPE, SPME, PLE, MSPD, QuEChERS, SFE) in combination with GC-MS / MS (QqQ, TOF) and LC-MS / MS (QqQ, Q-TOF, Orbitrap, Ion-Trap) to recover and characterize secondary metabolites from natural matrices with potential bioactivity. He had a Master's degree in Food Science and Industrial Engineering - Food Microbiology from Varamin Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran with a thesis entitled "The inhibitory effect of garlic extract on Staphylococcus aureus in quail meat", supervised by Dr. M. Hashemiravan (GPA: 17.50/20, Feb2014- Feb2017). The main results of this research were published in the Journal of Biological Knowledge (M. Hashemiravan, R. Pourahmad, M. Karbalaei, The Inhibitory Effect of Garlic Extract in Quail Meat, 2016,2:33-44). In addition, four other papers were included in international conferences presenting the antibacterial effect of garlic in meat products and the preparation of probiotic beverages. In addition, a new invention related to this master's thesis was submitted on the application of a pad that can extend the shelf life of poultry meat packaging.
Mrs. Minsun Kim is conducting various studies on meal kits and has published two papers. She is currently studying at Sejong University in South Korea as a doctoral student.
