Avik Ghosh is Professor at the Charles Brown Dept of Electrical and Computing Engineering and the Dept of Physics at the University of Virginia. He did his PhD in condensed matter theory at the Ohio State University, and a postdoctoral fellowship in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University. He is the UVA site-director of the NSF-Industry University Cooperative Center on Multifunctional Integrated Systems Technology (MIST). Ghosh has authored 150+ refereed papers and a book (“Nanoelectronics – a Molecular View”, World Scientific) in the area of computational nano-materials and devices. He has given over 150 invited lectures across five continents. He is Fellow of the Institute of Physics (IOP), senior member of the IEEE, and has received the IBM Faculty Award, the NSF CAREER Award, a 2006 best paper award from the Army Research Office, and UVA’s All University Teaching Award. His group’s work with Columbia University on negative index behavior in graphene was voted by the editors of Physics World as one of the top10 research breakthroughs of 2016.
Zhongfan Liu completed his PhD from University of Tokyo in 1990 and postdoctoral study from the same university and Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), Japan. His current research interests include the CVD growth, mass production and equipment manufacturing, and unique applications of graphene. He is the founding Director of Beijing Graphene Institute (BGI) and a BOYA chair professor of Peking University. He is the member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the fellow of TWAS.

Dr.Mark A. Bissett obtained his PhD in Nanotechnology from Flinders University (Australia) in 2011. In 2012 he joined Kyushu University (Japan) as a postdoctoral researcher working on graphene production and characterisation. At the beginning of 2014 he joined the University of Manchester. His research group focuses on the formulation and integration of low-dimensional materials, particularly graphene and other 2D materials, into various applications including nanocomposites and electrochemical energy storage.
Jorge Oliva is Professor at the Instituto Potosino de Investigacion Cientifica y Tecnologica (IPICYT, México). He is founder of the Nanotechnology company named “Nanobio and tronics” He is currently responsible of the laboratory of Flexible Electronics at IPICYT. Jorge Oliva (39 years old) has participated in 130+ publications, 5 patents. He is currently leading an industry project about the development of sustainable electrolytes (free of acid compounds) for industrial batteries. He has been Reviewer for international industrial projects in Poland, Switzerland and Argentina. His research group is currently working on the development of biodegradable batteries/gas-sensors and photocatalytic flexible materials for the elimination of herbicides, pharmaceutical compounds and dyes from the drinking water. His group is also working on investigations for the fabrication of batteries from recycled plastics and graphene.
Dr. Gopal Chandra Shit is presently a Professor in Applied Mathematics of Jadavpur University, Kolkata and visiting associate of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai. He has completed his Master degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2001 and Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2008 in the field of Biofluid Dynamics. He has received several prestigious Awards and Honours including Young Scientist award (BOYSCAST Fellowship) in 2010 awarded by DST, Govt. of India and visited University of Paris XII, France for postdoctoral research work during 2010 and 2011, received best paper presentation award in the section of Mathematical Sciences awarded by ISCA (Indian Science Congress Association) in 2007. He has also visited UK, Spainand Germany for academic purpose. He has also visited Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore for post-doctoral research for which the fellowship was awarded jointly by IASc., INSA and NASI, Govt. of India. He has awarded MATRICS project in 2021 from SERB, DST. He has published more than 100 research papers in reputed International journals in Elsevier, Springer, World Scientific, Willey Interscience, Taylors & Francis etc. He has produced 10 Ph.D. students. He has completed 7 research projects sponsored by DST and UGC. His research interests include Biofluid Mechanics, Microfluidics and Nanofluids, Boundary Layer Theory, MHD, CFD, Heat and Mass Transfer and Bioheat Transfer in the living biological tissues.
Tetsuya Kambe received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo. He received the JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists from 2012, then he became an assistant professor at Tokyo institute of Technology in 2014. He served in the ERATO Atom-hybrid Project at the Japan Science and Technology (JST) from 2015 to 2020. He was awarded the Nanoscale Horizons Award in 2019, and the 71th CSJ Award for Young Chemists in 2021. His research interests are in the development of precision synthesis of inorganic or organic/inorganic hybrid materials and low-dimensional materials.
Dr. Hong He is a professor of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Prof. He received his doctorate (PhD) at the University of Tokyo in 1994. He studied and worked in Japan, the United States and Canada for 11 years, and thereafter joined RCEES through the “Hundred Talents Program” of the CAS in 2001. His research has mainly focused on fundamental and applied research in environmental catalysis and heterogeneous atmospheric chemistry, with a series of achievements in the areas of diesel emission control technologies, catalytic indoor air purification and haze formation mechanisms. He is the author of more than 530 peer-reviewed scientific publications, with over 31,500 citations. Prof. He is the first inventor on more than 60 authorized patents, some of which have already been implemented in commercial applications. Prof. He was awarded the National Technology Invention Award (China, Second Class) in 2011, the National Science and Technology Progress Award (China, Second Class) in 2014, the National Natural Science Award (China, Second Class) in 2019 and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation in 2017. He was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2017.

Prof. Seong Chan Jun completed Bachelor, master and Ph.D. degree from George Washington University (Washington D.C.), Cornell University (Ithaca N.Y.), and Columbia University (New York, NY) respectively. After he graduated, he worked at NSEC (Nano Scale Science & Research Center) and SAIT (Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology) sequently. He has been currently appointed professor at Yonsei University (Seoul, Korea) since 2008.
Dr. Mina Yoon is the Group Leader of Microstructural Evolution Modeling Group in the Materials Science and Technology Division (MSTD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and a Joint Faculty at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Tennessee (UTK), Knoxville. Her research focuses on the application of materials theory, advanced computational approaches, and data analytics/ML to understand fundamental physical phenomena and translate the knowledge into the development of novel energy materials, including nanoscale materials and topological quantum materials. Prior to joining the laboratory Dr. Yoon spent three years on a Max Planck Fellowship at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society. She is a recipient of the Lee Hsun Young Scientist Award from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Science, and Outstanding Scholarly Output team award in 2020 UT-Battelle Awards Night program.
Cheong Hoon Kwon is a professor at the Division of Energy Engineering in Kangwon National University since 2022. She received her Ph.D. degree at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in Korea University in 2008. She was a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School in Boston (in 2009–2010). She was a research professor in Hanyang University (in 2010 -2015)and Korea University (in 2016–2021) Kwon has expertise in the surface modification of metal or metal oxide nanoparticles for electrochemical sensors (or actuators), biofuel cells, and energy storage devices. She has now focused on developing various energy electrodes using metal nanoparticle-based layer-by-layer assembly.
Prof. Junrong Zheng completed his PhD and postdoctoral studies from Stanford University. He is professor of chemistry at Peking University. Prior to joining PKU, he was a faculty member at Rice University in Houston. He is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Sloan Fellowship and the Packard Fellowship.

After a postdoctoral stay at the NTU (two years), he was appointed as a research scientist in the Institute for Particle Technology (iPAT) and the Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB) of Technische Universität Braunschweig. His research interests include battery materials, battery process engineering, battery recycling, supercapacitor materials, and nanomaterials. He has published more than 100 papers and presentations in reputed journals and international conferences.
Prof. Chen is a full professor in School of Electronics, Peking University. She received her PhD degree in Department of Materials Physics, University of Science and Technology Beijing in 1994. She was a visiting student in Department of Materials Science, Cambridge University from 1991-1993. She was a COE research fellow in Institute of Metal Materials, Japan in 1997-1998 and a postdoc in Department of Physics, Arizona State University in 1998-2000. She has published 220 journal papers with more than 13,000 other citations, h-index 52. Her current research interests include developing novel nanodevices based on 2D materials and III-V nanowires, and characterizing nanostructures by in situ TEM and in situ SEM.
Dr. Ziba Hedayatnasab received her Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her Ph.D. work focused on novel approaches for in-vitro magnetic hyperthermia therapy of cancer. She has subsequently joined the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department, Sharif University of Technology, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. She is currently working on magnetic hybrid nanomaterials for biomedical applications and the
heat induction prediction of magnetic nanomaterials using artificial neural network and particle swarm optimization algorithm. She has published many research papers in reputed international journals and been awarded several research grants during her Ph.D. and postdoctoral studies. She has awarded the best presenter in the field of Nanotechnology at the 3rd ICChESA Conference in 2017. Her research fields mainly include Synthesis and Characterization,
Magnetic Materials, Polymer-Reinforced Nanocomposites, and Bionanomaterials for Cancer Therapy.
Dr. Dinesh Pratap Singh notched up his M.Sc. (2000) and Ph.D. (2007) degree in Physics from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi India. After post-doctoral studies from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), Illinois, USA, he joined Department of Physics, University of Santiago, Chile (2010) as an assistant professor. He has published many articles/reviews (64 articles) and book chapters (9 book chapters) in the refereed journals of high impact and books/encyclopedia published by internationally reputed publishers. He qualified CSIR-NETJRF (UGC India), D S Kothari post-doctoral fellowship and been awarded by various projects funded by CONICYT - ANID Chile. He is one among eight PIs of the leading project called as Millennium institute of Research in Optics (MIRO) for 10 years (2018-2028) awarded by Millennium Science Initiative- Millenio Instituto (ANID) Chile. 3)Synthesis of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for Non-linear Optics Applications
4)Synthesis and high temperature tribological study of different mixed metal oxide nanostructures (e.g. metal molybdates, metal tungstates and metal vanadates).
5)Synthesis of metallic (silver, gold and copper) nanoparticles and to study their bio-interaction for medicinal applications.
Huamin Li has completed his PhD from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, and postdoctoral research from University of Notre Dame, USA. His expertise is in the exploration of nanoscale two-dimensional materials and their application for next-generation nanoelectronics. He is an Editorial Board Member for IEEE Access, Nano Express, Materials Research Letters, and Frontiers in Physics.
Stefania Lamponi is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmacy (Department of Excellence 2018-2022) of University of Siena (Italy). Moreover, she is a co-founder and President of the academic spin-off company SienabioACTIVE of the University of Siena. She graduated in Biological Sciences and has a PhD in Biomaterials.
Her main research interests concern the in vitro biocompatibility evaluation of polymeric materials and hydrogels for biomedical applications; evaluation of biological properties of natural and derivatised polysaccharide; polysaccharide-metal complexes as angiogenetic and antibacterial agents; polysaccharide-based hydrogels as scaffolds for cell cultures and tissue engineering, and drug delivery systems; micro and nano-patterned systems for tissue engineering; in vitro cell characterisation of micro and nanostructured surfaces for cell guidance (tissue engineering); in vitro biological evaluation of citotoxicity, citocompatibility and genotoxicity of new drugs, antioxidant molecules of natural origin and nanoparticles.
Furthermore, a significant part of her research activity focuses on the extraction, chemical characterization and evaluation of in vitro bioactivity, both in cellular and acellular systems, of bioactive substances from plants and the study of nanocarriers for the intracellular release of natural antioxidants.
Dr. Ponnusami Venkatachalam is a Chemical engineering graduate from Anna University, Chennai. Completing his Ph.D. SASTRA University (India) on decolorization of textile effluents with low-cost adsorbents, he continued his research on the design of solar active photocatalysts for the degradation of emerging contaminants such as pharmaceutical, and agricultural residues. He heads the Bioprocess intensification lab - a division of Bioenergy Center at SASTRA University.TiO2 and ZnO based heterojunction catalysts with solar absorbance capacity are developed in the lab forwastewater treatment. In addition, the group works on lignocellulose valorisation, synthesis of bacterial biopolysacharids including, pullulan, xanthan, and levan, and biodiesel production from agrowastes.

I would like to summarize my research and development activities since I defended my Ph.D.
thesis in 1999. Currently, I work at ENSTA Bretagne and CNRS Laboratory as a Professor of mechanical and materials engineering. I am a composites/nanocomposites specialist with expertise in
the fields of physical properties and structural characterizations at all scale levels. I have an excellent
background in composite/nanocomposite materials from macro to nanometric nanoscale.
In recent years, a systemic approach to multifunctional materials has emerged with the search
for performance indices. This reflection is part of an eco-design approach in which the notion of
sustainability is a factor of productivity. Scientific and technological issues are the sharing of
knowledge from various disciplines to generate new or improved solutions. Multi-scale, multi-physics,
and multi-disciplinary approaches are rich in potential for increasing our knowledge of materials and
improving our understanding of the process-properties-sustainability relationships that will optimize
the technological solutions for the use of new generation materials. My research is currently focused
on 3 themes. The first is the integration of nanomaterials into composite structures to improve their
mechanical, thermal, and electrical performance. The second concerns multi-scale theoretical and
numerical modeling of multiphysically coupled materials such as intelligent materials and structures.
In parallel, I work on the durability and repair of composite structures. And finally on the study of
composites performance for aeronautic and aerospatial applications. The published works have
contributed to answering scientific issues related to the use of composite materials in different sectors
I joined the ENSTA Bretagne as a scientist and professor in May 2001 for the creation and
implementation of a research theme on composite materials. I was involved in building the composite
research vision at ENSTA Bretagne, helping to get capital funds to establish a characterization facility
from various sources. I strongly contributed to the acquisition of large test and measurement facilities
(large impact machine, and a fatigue testing platform). Also, I established new research topics on
multi-functional materials and composites with research scientists and engineers and more than 30
Graduates students. To carry out these different research activities, I was in close collaboration with
several academics and industrialists.
Since being in France, I have built a strong governmental, industrial, and academic contact
base to attract research funding and to update my knowledge of state-of-the-art
composites/nanocomposites research. My 25 years of experience in advanced mechanical and
engineered materials has enabled my position as principal investigator (PI) and Co-PI on many
programs to participate in the development and characterization of new generation high-performance
materials. In the past 15 years, I have attracted more than €2 million worth of funds.
At this time, I have more than 158 articles and chapters published in refereed journals in
composites/nanocomposites and mechanical management. As a result of the years spent at ENSTA
Bretagne and CNRS, I have gained valuable experience in developing new ideas and collaborations to
develop a world-class composites/nanocomposites research program in materials hybrids from the
fundamental understanding to the manufacturing.
Francisco Márquez was born in Valencia (Spain) and received his Bachelor and Master´s degree from the University of Valencia in 1988 and 1989, respectively, and his Doctor´s degree in Chemistry at the University of Valencia in 1992. He spent two years from 1990 as Director of the laboratories of Futura Medical S.A. and one year as researcher at the V-I Laboratories. From 1994 he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In 2001 he was an Associate Professor at the Universidad Jaime I and subsequently he moved to the School of Science and Technology at Turabo University (AGMUS), PR, USA, where is now Full Professor of chemistry. He has been Visiting Professor in several universities, most recently at the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain). His research interests are mainly directed toward photophysics of organic compounds in confined spaces, hydrogen technology and most recently the synthesis and applications of nanotubes and nanowires and Li-ion batteries. He is a coauthor of over 130 scientific publications and 10 patents, and Editor-in-Chief of several specialized journals.
