Thomas F. George (chancellor/professor emeritus) served as chancellor and professor of chemistry and physics at the University of Missouri–St. Louis from 2003 until his retirement in 2019. Prior to that, he was chancellor at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, provost at Washington State University, dean of science at SUNYBuffalo, and promoted by age 29 to full professor of chemistry at the University of Rochester. He received his B.A. degree (Phi Beta Kappa) with a double major in chemistry and mathematics from Gettysburg College, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at age 23 from Yale University, with postdoctoral appointments at MIT and UC-Berkeley. Tom’s research specialty is chemical/materials/laser/nanophysics, including nanomedicine. He continues to be an active researcher with 800 papers, 9 authored and 29 edited books. His awards include the Marlow Medal from the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), Medal of Honor from Gulf University for Science and Technology in Kuwait, and Diploma of Honour from Seinájoki University of Applied Sciences in Finland. He holds honorary doctorates from the University of Szeged in Hungary and Phranakhon Rajabhat University in Thailand, and he has been elected as a foreign member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology. As a hobby, he plays jazz keyboard and has performed throughout the country and overseas in Bosnia, Croatia, China, Hungary, Kuwait, Oman, Romania, and Russian Siberia. Tom has been married since 1970 to Dr. Barbara Harbach, Curators’ Distinguished Professor Emerita of Music, former chair of the Department of Music, director of the School of Fine and Performing Arts, and director of Women in the Arts at the University of MissouriSt. Louis. They are the proud owners (actually, servants) of four cats – two tortoise females (Luna and Stella) and two younger, mischievous males (Jeremiah and Jarrett).

Professor Virinder Parmar did B.Sc. Honors, M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Delhi, and has worked for nearly 10 years as a Postdoctoral/Visiting Scientist at Cornell University, Harvard University, University of Massachusetts Lowell, NYU-Poly, MIT, University of Basel and Imperial College. He is currently a Faculty in the Nanoscience Department of the CUNY Graduate Center and at the Chemistry & Environmental Science Department at Medgar Evers College, earlier he had served the University of Delhi for 44 years as Professor & Head of the Department of Chemistry and as Chairman of the Board of Research Studies, and Provost of Gwyer Hall. He was appointed Full Tenured Professor of Chemistry & First Head of the Department of Nanoscience at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He has been an awardee of Medals for Excellence in Research from the Chemical Research Society of India and of the Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists, and a recipient of the Academic Staff Award from the Experts II Consortium of the European Union (EU). He was awarded the Dean’s Research Excellence Award of the School of Science, Health and Technology, Medgar Evers College, CUNY, Brooklyn, New York, USA for the years 2019 & 2020.

Prof Chul Park received his Ph.D. from MIT in 1993. He is a Distinguished Professor of Microcellular Engineered Plastics at the University of Toronto. He is also the NSERC Senior Industrial Research Chair in Multi-Functional Graphene-Based Polymer Nanocomposites and Foams. He has international recognition in the polymer foam area. He has published more than 1400 papers, including 425 journal papers and four books with 77 Scopus H-index. Prof Park serves as Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Cellular Plastics and serves as an Advisory Editorial Board member for over 10 journals. He has been inducted to be an Academician Fellow into 5 academies including the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada and the Korean Academy of Science and Technology. He is also a Fellow of 5 other professional societies including the Society of Plastics Engineers.

Dr. Kamran Behdinan, earned his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria in British Columbia in 1996, and has a considerable experience in both academic and industrial settings. Kamran was a founding member and the Executive Director of the Ryerson Institute for Aerospace Design and Innovation (2003-2011). He was also a founding member and the coordinator of the Canadian-European Graduate Student Exchange Program in Aerospace Engineering at Ryerson University. Dr. Behdinan held the NSERC Design Chair in “Engineering Design and Innovation”, 2010-2012, sponsored by Bombardier Aerospace and Pratt and Whitney Canada Dr. Behdinan is the past President of the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineering (CSME), served as a member of the technical and scholarship committees of the High-Performance Computing Virtual Laboratory (HPCVL) and a member of the Design Division of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI). He is the founding director and principal investigator of the University of Toronto, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering “Advanced Research Laboratory for Multifunctional Lightweight Structures”, funded by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (Leader’s Opportunity Fund) and Ontario Research Fund.His research interests include Design and Development of Light-weight Structures and Systems for biomedical, aerospace, automotive, and nuclear applications, Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Aerospace and Automotive systems, Multi-scale Simulation of Nano-structured Materials and Composites. During his academic career, Kamran Behdinan has supervised 32 PhD students, 127 Masters’ students, and 40 Post-Doctoral Fellows. He has also published more than 370 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, 1 book and 19 book chapters. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards and recognitions for his outstanding achievements and contributions to management and practice of the mechanical engineering, advancement of the applied science engineering profession, and engineering design education such as the Fellow of Pratt and Whitney Canada and Fellow of the CSME, Fellow of the AAAS, Fellow of the ASME, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, as well as Associate Fellow of AIAA.

Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah obtained his BTech (Hons) degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1995. He served in several industries as a quality and production engineer for nearly 4 years prior to the commencement of his study at the master level in 1998. He received his MSc in the year 2000 in the field of Chemical Process Technology. Four years later, he received his doctorate degree in the field of chemical engineering, specializing in catalysis and reaction engineering. His Ph.D. study was supported by the National Science Fellowship provided by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation of Malaysia. Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah is a registered chemist with the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry and has so far published a number of research papers in refereed international and local journals. He also actively engaged in several consultancies works on environmental engineering projects with local industries. His current research areas are catalysis, wastewater engineering, and renewable fuels. Presently, there are 8 post-graduate students completing their MSc or Ph.D. thesis under his supervision. Among awards won by him is the Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Best Thesis Award 2004 and the Gold Award at the Malaysian Institute of Higher Learning Research and Development Exhibition 2005. He is also actively involved in community services as the trainer for the Malaysian National Service Program.

Professor Sabu Thomas is currently Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. Prof. Sabu Thomas is a highly committed teacher and a remarkably active researcher well-known nationally and internationally for his outstanding contributions in polymer science and nanotechnology. Prof. Thomas is an outstanding leader with sustained international acclaim for his work in Nanoscience, Polymer Science and Engineering, Polymer Nanocomposites, Elastomers, Polymer Blends, Interpenetrating Polymer Networks, Polymer Membranes, Green Composites and Nanocomposites, Nanomedicine and Green Nanotechnology. In collaboration with India’s premier tire company, Apollo Tyres, Professor Thomas's group invented new high-performance barrier rubber nanocomposite membranes for inner tubes and inner liners for tyres.He has published over 1000 research articles in international refereed journals. and has also edited and written 140 books with an H-index of 106 and total citation of more than 53,000. He has received a large number of international and national awards and recognitions. Under the leadership of Prof. Thomas, Mahatma Gandhi University has been transformed into a top University in the country where excellent outcome-based education is imparted to the students for their holistic development. Professor Thomas has received more than 30 national and international awards.

Dr. Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. He received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, and then obtained his M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2001 and 2006, respectively. Then he pursued a Postdoctoral study in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Lee began his professional career at The Dow Chemical Company in 2008. He was a Research Scientist and Project Leader in Dow’s Research and Development organization. Dr. Lee joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Vermont as an assistant professor in 2014. Since joining UVM, he created his own research platform on lightweight and smart composite structures. He joined the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at The University of Toronto starting July 1st, 2018. Dr. Lee’s research areas focus on polymer foam processing and characterization, and processing-structure-property relationships of nano-composites. He has 62 journal papers, over 100 refereed conference abstracts/papers, 2 book chapters, and 20 filed/issued patent applications. He is the PI or co-PI on domestically and internationally awarded grants from various government agencies and industries. Among his honors, Dr. Lee received the G.H. Duggan Medal from Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME) in 2020, the AKCSE Early Achievement Award in 2019, the US National Science Foundation Early Faculty Career Development Award (NSF CAREER) in 2018, the Polymer Processing Society (PPS) Morand Lambla award in 2018, the Hanwha Advanced Materials Non-Tenured Faculty Award in 2017, and 3 best paper awards from the Society of Plastics Engineer (2005, 2 in 2011).

Prof. Maurizio D'Auria was born in Rome in 1953 and obtained a degree in Chemistry in 1977. He obtained a fellowship of Fondazione Donegani of Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei from 1979 to 1981. He was a "Researcher" at the University of Rome from 1981 until 1992. From 1992 until 2001 he was Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Basilicata. Since 2001 he is a full professor in Organic Chemistry. From 2009 he is the coordinator of the Doctorate in Chemical Sciences at the University of Basilicata. From 1994 to 1996 he was President of the Basilicata Section of the Italian Chemical Society. From 1997 to 1999 he was a member of the board of directors of the Interdivisional Section on Photochemistry of the Italian Chemical Society. He is a member of the Italian Chemical Society, American Chemical Society, American Society of Photobiology, and European Photochemical Association. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Internet Journal of Science and Arkivoc. He is Editor in chief of EPA Newsletter, the magazine of the European Photochemistry Association. He was a member of the scientific or organizing committee of some meetings (i.e. the Second National Congress of Photochemistry and Photobiology and the V National Congress "Giornate di Chimica delle Sostanze Naturali"). His meaning scientific interests refer to the study of the chemical and photochemical reactivity of heterocyclic compounds. The behavior of furan derivatives has been studied both in hydrolytic and oxidative conditions. The photochemical behavior of some aromatic pentatomic heterocyclic compounds has been studied towards both photosubstitutions (these reactions have been used in the synthesis of naturally occurring compounds with biological activity as photosensitizers of singlet oxygen) and isomerizations. Some years ago Prof. D'Auria started to study the photochemical degradation of some naturally occurring compounds and not. In particular, the photochemical behavior of model compounds of lignin and of lignin itself has been studied in the presence of photochemically generated singlet oxygen. Furthermore, the photochemical degradation of some diphenyl ether herbicides has been studied. He is the author of more than 200 articles in international journals and of numerous patents. His H-index, at the date of 21.12.2012, is 26.

Dr. J.Y. Wu is an Associate Professor in biosciences and biochemical engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his BSc degree from Hebei University of Science and Technology (China), MSc from Tianjin University (China), and Ph.D. in from Queen’s University (Canada), mostly in Biochemical Engineering. His research interests include (1) molecular properties and biological functions of the plant, and microbial natural products, and carbohydrate polymers, (2) secondary metabolite production and plant defense responses in plant tissue cultures, (3) physical and biological effects of power ultrasound and applications in biotechnology and natural product processing. He has published more than 100 papers on refereed journals in plant sciences, applied microbiology and biotechnology, food and natural products chemistry, and polymer sciences, and also acted frequently as referees for these journals. He is an editorial board member for the journal Biotechnology and Applied Biochemistry.

Dr Wei Min Huang is currently an Associate Professor (tenured) at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. With over 20 years of experience on various shape memory materials (alloy, polymer, composite and hybrid), he has published over 190 papers in journals, such as Accounts of Chemical Research, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, and Materials Today, and has been invited to review manuscripts from over 270 international journals (including Progress in Polymer Science, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Advanced Functional Materials, etc), project proposals from American Chemical Society, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, etc, and book proposals from Springer, Elsevier and CRC. He has published two books (Thin film shape memory alloys-fundamentals and device applications, Polyurethane shape memory polymers) and is currently on the editorial board of over three dozen of journals.

Vakhtang Barbakadze has his expertise in isolation and structure elucidation of a new series of plant polyethers, which are endowed with pharmacological properties as immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antiinflammatory, wound-healing and anti-cancer agents. Besides, he interested in enantioselective synthesis and biological activities of basic monomeric moiety of these biopolyethers, synthesis of enantiomerically pure epoxides as chiral building blocks for the production of synthetic analogues of natural polyethers by chemical and enzymetic catalysis. He has received PhD degree in Chemistry and DSci degree in Biology in 1978 and 1999 from Institute of Organic Chemistry, Moscow, Russia and Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Tbilisi, Georgia, respectively. He is Head of the Department of Plant Biopolymers and Chemical Modification of Natural Compounds at Tbilisi State Medical University I.Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry. In 1996 and 2002 he has been a visiting scientist at Utrecht University, Departments of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Chemistry, Utrecht, The Netherlands, by University Scholarship and The Netherlands organization for scientific research (NWO) Scholarship Scientific Program, respectively. He is also an organizing committee member and renowned speaker for many reputed scientific conferences. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals. In 2004 he was Georgian State Prize Winner in Science and Technology.

Soshu Kirihara is a doctor of engineering and a professor of Joining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI), Osaka University, Japan. In his main investigation “Materials Tectonics” for environmental improvements of “Geotechnology”, multi-dimensional structures were successfully fabricated to modulate energy and materials flows effectively. Ceramic and metal components were fabricated directly by smart additive manufacturing, design and evaluation (Smart MADE) using high power ultraviolet laser lithography. Original stereolithography systems were developed, and a new start-up company “SK-Fine” was established through academic-industrial collaboration.

Abdeen Mustafa Omer (BSc, MSc, Ph.D.) is an Associate Researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI). He obtained both his Ph.D. degree in the Built Environment and Master of Philosophy degree in Renewable Energy Technologies from the University of Nottingham. He is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record within the water industry and renewable energy technologies. He has been graduated from the University of El Menoufia, Egypt, BSc in Mechanical Engineering, and a Diploma/MSc from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. His previous experience involved being a member of the research team at the National Council for Research/Energy Research Institute in Sudan and working as director of research and development for National Water Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Sudan. He has been listed in the book WHO'S WHO in the World 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2010. He has published over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 100 review articles, 5 books, and 100 chapters in books.

He is a Consultant and Professor of environment & energy at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Minia University. For almost 10 years he was studying and worked in Japan. In 2003 he obtained his Ph.D. at Osaka Prefecture University and continued his work at the center of excellence at the same University. Dr. Abdelmoez mixed between academic and practical life. He established a center for the development of projects and technology scientific research to be a nucleus of a boost domestic manufacturing. His research focuses on the fields of water and renewable energy. An integrated team of engineers and researchers has succeeded in locally manufacturing units for water desalination, greywater recycling powered by solar energy as well as industrial wastewater treatment in many factories across Egypt. In addition, he built the first hybrid solar drying system for fruits and medical herbs based in totally locally manufacturing novel air solar heaters. He published more than forty international articles in the most prestigious scientific journals and orally presented in many international conferences in most countries across the world i.e Asia, the USA, and Europe. He published four international books worldwide in the areas of bio-engineering and processing and wastewater treatment and recovery. Recently, he was awarded the Minia University Incentive Award in the field of life sciences for his scientific projects that linked the academic community with industry and civil society and were finally selected to be the technical advisor for the water sector for the ministry of Military production.

Dr. Arpit Sand is currently an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, India. He received his BSc in Science and MSc in Chemistry from the University of Allahabad, India, in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the same university in 2010. Dr. Sand is an editorial board member for Polymer Synthesis Journal by Cambridge Scholars Publishing UK and Journal of Polymer Science. He is an academic book editor and a reviewer for international journals including Carbohydrate Polymers, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, and Fibers and Polymers, among others.Dr. Sand’s previous roles include assistant professor (guest faculty) in the Department of Chemistry, University of Allahabad; research associate at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) New Delhi; postdoctoral fellow at Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology (GIST), Korea; postdoctoral fellow at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden; junior researcher at the Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic; and researcher at Soongsil University, South Korea.He has more than ten years of teaching and research experience. He is also a life member of the Indian Science Congress and Green Chemistry Network center. He has made significant contributions in the modification and characterization of graft copolymers and films decorated with chalcogenide quantum dots to tune the energy bandgap for solar energy harvesting applications.
