Dieter Bimberg received the Ph.D. magna cum laude from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. He held a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, Grenoble, France, until 1979. After serving as a Professor of electrical engineering, Technical University of Aachen, Germany, he assumed the Chair of Applied Solid-State Physics at Technical University of Berlin. He is the Founding Director of its Center of Nanophotonics. He was holding guest professorships at the Technion, Haifa, U.C. Santa Barbara, CA, USA, and at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, CA. He was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at KAU, Jeddah 2012-2018. In 2018 he assumed the directorship of the “Bimberg Chinese German Center for Green Photonics” at the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina,the EU Academy of Sciences, a ForeignMember of the Russian Academy of Sciences,the US Academies of Engineering and of Inventors, a Life Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE. He is recipient of multiple international awards, like the UNESCO Nanoscience Award, the Max-Born Award and Medal of IoP and DPG, the Heinrich-Welker-Award, the Nick Holonyak Jr. Award, the Japanese Oyo Buturi Award of Applied Physics, the Jun-Ichi Nishizawa Medal and Award of IEEE, and the Stern-Gerlach Award of DPG, to mention a few. He received honorary doctorates of the University of Lancaster, UK, and the St.Petersburg Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has authored more than 1600 papers, 71 patents and applications, and six books. The number of times his research works has been cited exceeds 64,000 and his Hirsch factor is 112 (@ Google Scholar). His research interests include physics and technology of nanostructures, nanostructured photonic and electronic devices, and energy efficient data communication.

Prof. Ken-ichi Ueda is a professor emeritus of Univ. Electro-Communications, a specially appointed Professor of the Institute of Laser Engineering, Osaka University, a supervisor of JST PRESTO, and an advisor of Hamamatsu Photonics. He received Ms. degree from Osaka University and Dr. Sci. degree from the University of Tokyo. He was a director/professor of Inst. Laser Science, UEC-Tokyo 1990 - 2012. He developed high power KrF laser for fusion, ultra-stabilized laser for gravitational wave detector, kW-class fiber disk laser, high power ceramic lasers and their applications. He published more than 590 papers. He is a member of Sicence Council of Japan and a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Russia.

Fumio Koyama received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in physical electronics from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1980, 1982 and 1985, respectively.　He is a professor, Institute of Innovative Research, Tokyo Institute of Technology.He served as the dean, Institute of Innovative Research between 2018-2020. His research interest includes VCSEL photonics, photonic integrated devices, 3D optical sensing and LiDAR. He has authored or co-authored more than 1,000 journal and conference papers, including more than 100 invited talks. For more than 35 years, Fumio Koyama has been one of leading researchers whose work contributed to VCSEL photonics and single-mode lasers for broadband optical communications. He received various awards, including the IEEE Student Paper Award in 1985, the IEE Electronics Letters Premium in 1985 and in 1988, IEICE Paper Awards in 1990, 2002, 2004 and 2007, Marubun Scientific Award in 1998, the Ichimura Award in 2004, the IEICE Electronics Society Award in 2006, the MEXT Prize for Science and Technology in 2007, IEEE/LEOS William Streifer Scientific Achievement Award in 2008, the 2012 Izuo Hayashi Award from the Japanese Society of Applied Physics, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Award in 2015 and the Ichimura Prize in Industry for Excellent Achievement from the New Technology Development Foundation in 2016, the 32nd Kenjiro Sakurai Memorial Award from the Optoelectronics Industry and Technology Development Association in 2017, Okawa Award in 2018, Nick Holonyak, Jr. Award from OSA in 2019and IEICE Achievement Award in 2019. He is Fellow of IEEE, OSA, IEICE and the Japan Society of Applied Physics. He was a deputy editor for IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology (2011-2016) and a topical editor for OSA Optics Letters (2009-2013), and was the Guest Editor of IEEE JSTQE (2002 and 2007). He has served as the IEEE David Sarnoff Award Committee Member (2009-2012) and the IEEE Fink and Baker Awards Committee Member (2013-2014). He also has served as various committee members, including General Chair (2010), Program Chair (2008) and Sub-committee Chair (2006) of IEEE International Semiconductor Laser Conferences, Sub-committee Co-Chair of ACP 2009-2010, Steering Committee Chair of CLEO Pacific-Rim (2012-), CLEO/QELS TPC member (2006-2008), LEOS Annual Meeting TPC member (1998-2003), General Co-chair (2007) and Program Co-chair (2005) OECC. He was the chair of IEEE Photonics Society Japan Chapter and Board Member of IEEE Tokyo Section. He also served as President of Electronics Society, the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) (2011-2012) and the member of IEEE Photonics Society Board of Governors (2012-2014).

Suleyman Ozcelik is a Professor of Physics at Gazi University in Turkey, where he is also the founding Director of Gazi Photonics Application &Research Center (http://fotonik.gazi.edu.tr/?language=en_US) and the founding Head of Department of Photonics. He obtained his MSc (1986) and PhD (1991) degrees from Gazi University. As the Director of Gazi Photonics Research Center, with a team of around 65 national and international researchers, Prof Ozcelik leads prestigious national and international research and R&D collaborations with academic and industry partners. His research expertise includes the development of photonic crystals, epitaxial growth, bulk single-crystal growth, growth of 2D nanomaterials, modeling, designing and fabrication of opto-electronic devices.Prof Ozcelik’s team has established Turkey’s first epitaxial growth and bulk Germanium and Sapphire crystal growth systems, as well as pioneering the production of space-qualified solar cells.He has led more than 40 projects in the fields of advanced materials, semiconductor and optics-photonics technologies funded by national and international agencies. He has published more than 200 articles in SCIjournals, and more than 550 publications overall. Prof Ozcelik is a member of several high education boards and civil society organizations, supporting and promoting R&D, researcher training, research and industry collaborations, and academia-public engagement. He regularly gives keynote/invited talks in national and international conferences. In 2019, he has received an Honor Award from the Turkish Physical Society for his distinct contributions to the discipline of physics.

Estefania HernandezMartin received her Ph.D. degree in 2018 focused on neuroimaging techniques in the human brain. Her experticity is in the optical field, developing a new approach in the data processing for diffuse optical imaging compared with functional magnetic resonance imaging. Also, she has been working as research associate in both the University of California, Irvine and University of Southern California developing and optimizing algorithms to electrophysiological data sets. Her research focuses on signal processing, modeling, multivariate statistics and data interpretation for both electrophysiological and neuroimaging data sets that help to explain the behavior of the brain.

Dr. Artur Martirosyan completed his PhD in the year 1985 at the age of 28 years from Institute for Physical Research. In 2012, he defended his doctoral dissertation and received the degree of Doctor of Phys.-Math. Sciences. He is the Senior Researcher at the Institute for Physical Research. He has published about60 papers in reputed journals and conferences proceedings. His research interests include optics, lasers, object tracking, remote sensing, plasma physics, non-destructive testing.

Dr. Kahouadji has a PhD in physics, option: physics of materials since April 2017, teacher researcher at A.Mira university of bejaia, faculty of technology. He is working on nanomaterials based on rare earth orthophosphates in collaboration with two laboratories: Laser Department/ Nuclear Research Centre of Algiers (CRNA), Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, University of Belgrade.
