Daniele Mortari is Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, working on the field of attitude and position estimation, satellite constellation design, sensor data processing, and various topic in linear algebra and numerical algorithms. He has taught at the School of Aerospace Engineering of Rome’s University and at Electronic Engineering of Perugia’s University. He received his dottore degree in Nuclear Engineering from University of Rome “La Sapienza,” in 1981. He has published more than 110 journal articles, holds a U.S. patent, and has been recognized for his work, including receiving best paper Award from AIAA conference, from Journal Mathematics, three NASA’s Group Achievement Awards, 2003 Spacecraft Technology Center Award, 2007 IEEE Judith A. Resnik Award, and 2016 AAS Dirk Brouwer Award. He is IEEE and AAS Fellow, AIAA Associate Fellow, International Academy of Astronautics member, Honorary Member of IEEE Space System Technical Panel, and former IEEE Distinguish Speaker.

Dr Wei Min Huang is currently an Associate Professor (tenured) at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. With over 25 years of experience on various shape memory materials (including alloys, polymers, composites and hybrids), he has published over 190 papers in journals, such as Materials Today, Accounts of Chemical Research and Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, and has been invited to review manuscripts from over 280 international journals (including Progress in Polymer Science, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Advanced Functional Material, etc), project proposals from American Chemical Society, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, etc, and book proposals from Springer, CRC and Elsevier. He has published two books (Thin film shape memory alloys – fundamentals and device applications, and Polyurethane shape memory polymers) and is currently on the editorial board of over three dozen of international journals.

Dr Hessam Ghasemnejad is senior lecturer and course director for the MSc Advanced Lightweight and Composite Structures course at Cranfield University. His research focuses on mathematical modelling of advanced lightweight and composite structures. He has supervised 10+ PhD and Post-Doctoral programs as the main supervisor to date and secured several research grants from Innovate UK, Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE),MoDs and SME partners on impact and crashworthiness analysis of advanced composite structures. The outcomes of his research have provided solutions to extra weight saving in vehicular structures through the application of the developed mathematical models in analytical design tools. Healso acts as a member of the editorial board of journals and scientific committees and invited speaker of international conferences.

Professor Mark J. Jackson is the McCune and Middlekauff Endowed Professor, Graduate Faculty Member and University Faculty Fellow at Kansas State University. His areas of research and teaching include advanced manufacturing processes, smart manufacturing, applied mechanics and heat transfer. In March 2017, the degree of Doctor of Science (D. Sc.) in mechanical engineering was conferred upon Dr. Jackson in absentia by congregation for sustained contributions made in the area of mechanical engineering and advanced manufacturing over a period of twenty years. Dr. Jackson also conducts teaching and research in the area of naval architecture. In 2015 and 2020, Dr. Jackson was awarded the Certificate and Diploma in Naval Architecture from the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy, London, UK. He also conducts work on aspects of laser welding and deposition of thick film coatings in the shipbuilding process.

Dr. Phil Ligrani is currently the Eminent Scholar in Propulsion, and Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Prior to 2014, he was the Oliver L. Parks Endowed Chair, and Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at Parks College of Saint Louis University. Prior to that appointment, he was the Donald Schultz Professor of Turbomachinery in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. There, from 2006 to 2009, he was also Director of Oxford University's Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre in Heat Transfer and Aerodynamics. From 1994 to 2006, he was a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Director of the Convective Heat Transfer Laboratory, and Associate Department Chair in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah. Research interests include turbomachinery, convective heat transfer, fluid mechanics, transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic flows, as well as micro-fluidics, and measurement technologies.
