Ursel Bangert is Bernal Chair in Microscopy and Imaging at the University of Limerick (Ireland), following positions of Reader and Lecturer at Manchester and Surrey University (UK), conducting research in the area of electron microscopy for over 30 years. She has been involved in the conception and managerial activities of prominent Electron Microscopy Facilities at Liverpool University (NorthWest STEM), at Daresbury Laboratories (SuperSTEM) and at Manchester University and is currently establishing an International Centre for Ultra-High Resolution Imaging and Characterisation at the University of Limerick. Her current research activities concentrate on investigations of structure, growth phenomena and structurally related opto-electronic properties of nano-materials, in particular of 2-dimensional materials (her characterisation of Graphene has contributed to the Nobel Prize achievement in 2010 by A. Geim), to reveal materials’ features and dynamics on the atomic scale. She has & gt; 300 publications including Nature papers, Review Articles, Perspectives, Book Chapters, and has contributed prolifically at national and international conferences including numerous invited talks and seminars.

Prof. Liqiu Wang is currently Otto Poon Charitable Foundation Professor in Smart and Sustainable Energy and Chair Professor of Thermal-Fluid and Energy Engineering in Department of Mechanical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In addition to 11 scholarly monographs/books, five book chapters, 80+ plenary/keynote lectures at international conferences, and over 180 invited lectures in universities/industries/organizations, Prof. Wang has published 530+ papers in various prestigious journals and conferences, many of which have been widely used by researchers all over the world. Prof. Wang has also filed 40+ patents and software copyrights, and developed, with an international team consisting of about 100 scientists and engineers, a state-of-the-art thermal control system for the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) on the International Space Station that ensures AMS and all its sub-detectors working at their designed temperatures ±1℃ for an environment temperature variation from -40℃ to 60℃ every 90 minutes. His work has been widely featured by local, national, and international media, journals, and magazines, and received recognition through a number of awards, including the 2021 Gold Medal of International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, the 2018 TechConnect Global Innovation Award, the 2018 Silver Medal of International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, the 2017 OSA Innovation Award, the 2012 Zhejiang Qianren Professorship, and the 2010 Taishan Professorship, among others. Prof. Wang has made an incredibly positive and lasting impact on the direction and quality of scientific research and technology advances through his dedicated editorial work as editor or board member of 30+ international journals. He has co-organized several important conferences and chaired numerous professional society activities. His technical advice is also sought and valued by many advisory bodies and throughout the international community/industry of thermal-fluid sciences and engineering.

Dr Woo has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering, and he has obtained PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. He majors in energy system such as HVAC and its heat transfer, optimal design and control of refrigerator, reliability design of thermal components, and failure Analysis of thermal components in marketplace using the Non-destructive such as SEM & XRAY. In 1992.03–1997 he worked in Agency for Defense Development, Chinhae, South Korea, where he has researcher in charge of Development of Naval weapon System. He was working as a Senior Reliability Engineer in Refrigerator Division, Digital Appliance, SAMSUNG Electronics. Now he is working as associate professor in mechanical department, Ethiopian Technical University.
